Depressing realization of having no money

Now that school is out for the summer, most people would expect a very able young woman, around the age of 15, to get a job. The way the money is spent, that the certain young lady earned, is completely up to her. She may spend it on clothes, makeup, sport camps, or even video games. Lets say, hypothetically, that this certain young lady is me. I would probably spend all of my money on three out of those four things: clothes, sport camps, and video games. The only problem with that is that I DON'T HAVE A JOB!

It really is a depressing realization when you realize you have absolutely no money to spend on new video games that come out, or even old ones for that matter. I wish I could get a job, it's just that in a town as small as the one I live in it's almost impossible! To add to that, even if I could get a job I really can't because of all the things I have to do this summer! I barely have time to play video games! Well, maybe I'm over dramatizing just a titch, BUT the point is I need money! Which brings me to my real point!

The Mary Needs Money Fund is a great way to give back to the world! All you have to do is send a large amount of money to this address: JUST KIDDING! Did you really think I'd ask for money? Besides if I did want money I'd make it more flashy! Anyways, I hope you have a great Summer Vacation! By the way, how do you decide to spend your money? Or better yet, where do you get money?? I'd love some advice!

  1. Enjoy your summer break - maybe this is a chance to catch up on any sort of gaming backlog you might have?

How do I spend money? Based on bills, then padding for savings, and what's left might go to a game or two here and there, but I am 36 with a full-time job managing the tech support department to a software company. :P

My oldest can sympathize with you though. She's getting out of school in a week and change and we live in a tiny town. She's been applying for summer jobs all of the last two weeks and is getting shot down pretty much every time.

    2. Haha, thanks! :) I hope you have some luck this summer with the job hunt. I was lucky in that at 14-17, I had under the table work - mowing lawns, working on my grandfather's farm, etc - that provided my video game money (I had a pretty good sized NES collection back then. Actually, I still have most of it today). I didn't have to go out and nab a 'real' official job until I was 18.

  2. I know how you feel, I'm also 15 and no one is hiring that young where I live.
